ABOUT DR. DONNA PHAIR
I am a licensed Clinical Health Psychologist in the Murray Hill district of New York City.
A Clinical Health Psychologist means I have been educated and trained in the neuro and physiological aspects of the human body and mind, in addition to the clinical features of psychology. I have been in private practice since 2005.
I have extensive experience treating patients in both New York City, as well as in many countries around the world, in anxiety-based disorders (OCD, Phobias, Social Anxiety, etc.), perfectionism (see below), relationship issues around romantic partners, families, or occupational co-workers, sleep disorders (see below), and general feelings of discontentedness that seems to be pervasive in our present climate. Additionally, I have treated many people for guidance in career changes. Even though I am Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) oriented, I will incorporate my training in analysis, mindfulness, and Eastern Philosophy into the treatment regime as required. This allows for a well-rounded approach and to a more successful and long-lasting outcome.
I received my Ph.D. from Ferkauf at Albert Einstein College of Medicine (Yeshiva University) and a Master’s from New York University (NYU). My research in obesity, eating disorders, obsessional behavior and drug reward sensitivity was conducted at Rockefeller University, NYU Medical, and St. Luke’s Hospital.
